Frequently asked questions
What does London Residency do?
We source quotes from luxury serviced apartment residences in London on your behalf. You send your dates and requirements once, and we check availability and rates with the residences that match.
Is there a charge for using the service?
No. The quote service is free for guests. We do not add a booking fee.
Do I pay you or the residence?
You pay the residence directly. We obtain the quotes for you, but the booking and payment are between you and the residence you choose.
Why don't you show live prices?
Because the price you'd see online usually isn't the best one on offer. Residences often run specials they don't publish on their own websites, for quiet dates, longer stays or repeat guests. Most will also negotiate on the details: the nightly rate, breakfast, early check-in or late check-out. Some will help with theatre tickets or restaurant bookings too. None of that fits a fixed price on a web page, so we pass your request to the residence and it replies to you directly with what it can offer.
How do I request quotes from several residences?
Use the shortlist function to add the residences you like, then send one request. We approach each of them at the same time, which saves you contacting every building yourself.
Will I get a competitive rate?
That is the point of the service. We collect current rates from each residence so you can compare them side by side and choose the best value for your stay.
Is my deposit refundable if I change or cancel?
It depends on the residence. In many cases part or all of the deposit is refundable. Each residence sets its own terms, so check them before you confirm.
How are you different from other serviced apartment websites?
We focus only on the luxury end of the market and do not list every building available. We feature residences that represent value for money, meet high standards and have been personally inspected by us.
What is the difference between a serviced apartment and a hotel apartment suite?
Many hotels now offer apartment suites, but few have a fully functioning kitchen. Every apartment we feature is self-contained with a kitchen or kitchenette. Serviced apartments are usually in a dedicated building, often without a hotel-style reception, and tend to suit longer stays.
Can you advise on where to stay?
Yes. Tell us why you are in London and what matters to you, such as being near an office, a school, a hospital or a particular park, and we will suggest the areas and residences that fit.
Do you offer discounts on other services?
Guests who book through us can receive preferential discounts on partner concierge services, including chauffeurs, airport transfers, restaurant reservations and event access.
Can I list my own property with you?
If you own a property in prime central London, we offer a management and marketing service for short-stay and serviced apartments. We are selective, and will tell you quickly whether your property is a good fit.
Why ask the residence direct?
Booking sites charge the residence a commission on every night. Ask direct and there is none, so the residence has room to move: unpublished specials, a better rate for longer stays, breakfast, flexible check-in and check-out, and sometimes help with theatre or restaurant bookings.
